March Break - Fieldcote Park Digital Photography and Videography Contest

Fieldcote Memorial Park & Museum
Public visitors during March Break can use our two digital cameras and one video camera. The cameras will be on hand for children of all ages to use on our grounds. Upload favourites to our computer before leaving. Judges will select the winners the first week of April. We will use the best images and video in a small June exhibition.

A Week Of March Break Madness

Hamilton Children's Museum
Put on your dancing shoes and groove to music from the jukebox at the Doo Wop Diner; dress up like cooks, create your favourite diner dishes and serve them to family and friends in our 1950's-style family diner. Explore themes in nutrition, physical activity and science. Also, the Children's Museum Theatre Space is back with a twist! Children and their adults can view themselves on T.V. while putting on their show. So get your act together, get dressed up in costumes and create your own stories. Please note that during busy times, there may be a short, outdoor wait for admittance to this popular museum. At such times, visits may also be limited to one hour.

Studio Babette Puppet Theatre presents Puppets in the Castle: A Children's Puppet Construction and Performance Workshop

Dundurn National Historic Site
Learn the history and method of the various types of puppets and practice proper manipulation techniques. In each session, children will construct different types of puppets and will perform short plays with their new puppets before taking them home. Attend one, two, three or all four sessions. Bring a drink and snack.

It's A Family Affair

Dundurn National Historic Site
Children, adults and grandparents are invited to Dundurn National Historic Site, home to Dundurn Castle and the Hamilton Military Museum. On a guided tour of over 40 rooms in Dundurn Castle discover what it was like to live and play above stairs and work and live below stairs. Visitors will enjoy hands-on activities throughout their tour and sample a variety of historic goodies made in the kitchen. The Hamilton Military Museum provides a self guided experience with dress up and hands-on activities in the Discovery Gallery. The Coach House will feature a children's activity centre.
